This certification offers an enhanced Open Water Course that includes the usual 4 dives along with an additional 2 dives dedicated to refining students’ buoyancy – a crucial skill for becoming an adept diver and the initial stride towards improved air consumption. The program aims to elevate your diving skills, particularly emphasizing mastery in buoyancy control, a key factor influencing efficient air usage. Additionally, successfully completing the buoyancy segment of the course earns you credit towards your advanced certification.
Course Requirements
You need to be a minimum of 10 years old and have adequate swimming skills. The course takes 4 days and this licence allows you to dive worldwide to 18 metres depth. Please read the medical questionnaire to ensure good physical health.
Course structure
Meet your dive instructor at Blacktip Scuba to enrol in the course and collect your PADI learning materials including manual/ e-manual and DVD.
- Day 1: Theory review and swimming pool skills (3-5 hours)
- Day 2: 2 dives with lunch to maximum 12 meters depth (4-5 hours)
- Day 3: 2 dives with lunch to maximum 18 meters depth (4-5 hours)
- Day 4: 1 Buoyancy dive & 1 leisure dive to put everything into practice (4-5 hours)
Additional time for theory and final exam on day 2 or day 3 approximately 2 hour
