Get your diving licence on Koh Phi Phi! The PADI Open Water certification is the world’s most popular and widely recognized diving licence and takes just 3-4 days to complete.
Course Requirements
You need to be a minimum of 10 years old and have adequate swimming skills. The course takes 3 days and this licence allows you to dive worldwide to 18 metres depth. Please read the medical questionnaire to ensure good physical health.
Course structure
Meet your dive instructor at Blacktip Scuba to enrol in the course and collect your PADI learning materials including manual and course videos. The course can be done in 3 days. For a more relaxed pace and time off to enjoy the island, we recommend doing your course in 4 days.
Our 4 day schedule would tipically work as follows, but can be changed depending on instructor availbility and student needs.
- Day 1: Theory in classroom or room. We can also provide all necessary learning material on a USB drive (5-6 hours) If theory has been done through PADI E-Learning, you can take day 1 off!
- Day 2: Swimming pool skills (3-5 hours)
- Day 3: 2 dives with lunch to maximum 12 metres depth (4-5 hours)
- Day 4: 2 dives with lunch to maximum 18 metres depth (4-5 hours)
Additional time for theory and final exam on day 3 or day 4 sometimes may apply.
